The resources provided in this toolkit will help complement the outreach you are providing for the Discrimination Financial Assistance Program (DFAP) and provide resources for events.
Note: this document is intended for community partners signing on to market and host several outreach/technical assistance meetings, which will be staffed by DFAP vendors; a draft outreach flyer and other materials are attached.
What is DFAP?
DFAP was created by Section 22007 of the Inflation Reduction Act. This program will provide financial assistance to farmers, ranchers and forest landowners who experienced discrimination in USDA’s farm lending prior to January 1, 2021. The application period is open until January 13, 2024.
Who is involved?
Several entities are involved in the Discrimination Financial Assistance Program, with varying roles and responsibilities. The National Administrator and Regional Hubs are responsible for conducting outreach, assisting with the financial assistance application process, processing Applications, managing program call centers, and operating local offices. Additional outreach and application support is provided by community groups.
